There are millions of Muslims all across India and Pakistan speaking different languages and habits. But most of the girls have a common Muslim culture dating back to several centuries. The main sects are Sunni and Shiite. The majority of the population belongs to the Sunni sect. You can visually tell who is a Sunni vs who is a Shiite. The Sunnis are more fair in skin color and the Shiite are brownish in nature.
Sunni vs Shiite is always an issue in any country and especially in the sub continent. Many religious leaders are opposed to any inter marriage between Sunni and Shiite community. Both communities closely guard their soon to be married brides and grooms. Tragically you can still see honor killing in some part of Pakistan.In India Muslim women are not as much educated as their Hindu counterparts. In Pakistan it is even worse. Other than the major cities of Pakistan, women are seldom found in workplace or in any professional jobs. Many Muslim girls in India go to professional colleges and are indeed doing lot of professional work like engineers and doctors.
When we come to marriage Muslim girls still follow their parents footsteps in the form of arranged marriages. Unlike Hindus, Muslims do not have a dowry problem. Unlike Hindus, Muslim boys take care of all the marriage expenses. Many Muslim girls prefer boys who are well settled in gulf countries like Dubai, Saudi Arabia, UK etc. The Muslim boys and girls who have settled overseas like the USA, UK, France etc., prefer to find their life partner in their home country for better life. This has huge impact on local population with girls opting for the well settled boys from overseas countries.
